Breathe on me, breath of God

Here John, one of our congregation, is singing Breathe on me breath of God in Inchcolm Abbey, it should have been included been in last nights Songs of Praise but John was in Edinburgh.

John says, “I love the tune and the sentiment of the words. During the covid lockdown when it was only myself who had access to my church in East Kilbride, I used to sing hymns in the stillness and darkness. Then I started to make little videos with scripture, reflections, prayers, and hymns simply using my mobile phone. I sent them out a few times a week to the congregation and beyond by WhatsApp and email, just to keep in touch and hopefully a note of spiritual reassurance and uplift. Once the restrictions eased off, I continued to make videos but now on location. I made a couple in St Fillan’s graveyard in Holy Week. I know you have a historic link with the Abbey on Inch Colm and I have sung Breathe on Me ,breath of God in the lovely Chapter House there.”
