Fruits of the Spirit – week 3

1 Romans 15:13
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.

Thought for the week
In today’s world serenity can be hard to find. The world is changing so fast it is hard to keep up and human beings are often averse to change and can cause us to be fractious and fragile.
Remember God’s hand will never needlessly cause us to shed a tear. Things will happen which we will not understand, but in our conviction of God’s love for you and me, accept with serenity those things that baffle our hearts and minds and help others to do the same.

2 Peter 3:15
… And remember, our Lord’s patience gives people time to be saved. This is what our beloved brother Paul also wrote to you with the wisdom God gave him—of glory.

Thought for the week
Patience is a God-given restraint in the face of opposition or oppression.
What is crucial here is the love of God and our love as children of God. By exercising patience, and keeping in check our reactions, we give God the opportunity to heal, restore and time for our oppressors to repent, bringing hope and salvation.
In letting go and letting God, we will find our stress and anxiety disappears and is replaced with hope, joy and love.
