Here is the story of the design of the banners.
Kate Wheaton worked with Multiprint to design the banners. They are placed in the chancel to reflect the arch, the colours and and the dove in the stained glass window. The theme of the birds is taken from artwork submitted for the 900th anniversary by Kate’s brother, Angus Maclean. The text, “Look at the birds of the air. They do not sow or reap or gather into barns — and yet your Heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?” is from Matthew 6:26. The 900 logo was taken from St Bartholomew’s Hospital and St Bartholomew the Great church’s 900th anniversary logo and the pen drawing of the church is by Alex Harper.
