About Us
Worship
Worship takes place every Sunday morning at 10:30am and is normally led by a variety of ordained ministers and lay leaders. On the last Sunday of the month there is an opportunity to have tea or coffee at the end of the service.
There are additional services at Christmas and Easter – the early evening Christmas Eve service and Easter Day services are especially well attended – come early to get a seat!
As the village war memorial is on the wall of the church hall, the Remembrance Sunday service is held there on the 2nd Sunday in November at 10.00am. It is a joint service with St Columba’s Scottish Episcopal Church and the village uniformed organisations. The local community respond to this service in good number, in line with tradition. There is also normally a short service at the war memorial on Remembrance Day.
There are also occasional joint services with St Columba’s.
Communion services are held three times a year in March, June and October, with more informal ones on Christmas and Easter mornings.
St Fillan’s Worship Group is a small team who lead worship normally once a month. As the Church of Scotland changes and develops to meet the needs of people today, there will be lots of opportunity for new approaches to the Sunday service from within the group to explore different ways, different places, and different times to worship.
