Yes that’s right! 900 years of our lovely church will be celebrated next year, 2023! We are planning to hold several exciting events to mark the occasion – something for everyone in the village to enjoy, regardless of their faith (or not).
To begin. we’re looking for a special ‘St Fillan’s 900’ logo and inviting anyone, but particularly our children, to submit ideas by the end of September. There will be a small prize for the zest design in each age category, as well as the overall winner. Age categories are: under 12, 12-18. and over 18. as at 30 September 2022.
Kate Wheaton, former art teacher of 30 years, will help you generate ideas by holding a wee workshop in St Fillan’s Church on Sunday, 24th July at 11 30am. It is open to anyone – adults and children of all ages – interested in understanding a bit more about logo design.
The designs should be no bigger than A5 size but should be easily resizable for different applications. There will be collection points around in local shops, church hall and church entrance. Please remember to put which age category you are in, as well as your name and address on the reverse!
