A second new page has been added to the website giving information on the WW2 names on the War Memorial at the church hall, it is available here.
This supplements the new page giving information on the WWI names, it is available here.
It is interesting to compare the two lists, you can understand why it was called the Great War from the number of deaths (29 against 17) and the Second World War from the deaths over three continents, from Malta to Egypt to South Africa and Japan.
In WW2 list there was the first female death, there were equal numbers in the Army, Navy and Air Force.
More information has been added to the list of names, but it asks more questions than it answers. How did a nurse die in South Africa, or a Surgeon in Portsmouth and why did someone die from self inflicted wounds?
